I don't like giving books bad reviews, but this book really tested me. I just wasn't a fan. I just want to let everyone know that I don't speak for everyone, if you find this book interesting go ahead and read it.
What went wrong?
This book was written in a way that just didn't appeal to me. The story just took too long to start and I became very bored by the third chapter. Trust me I did give this book time to maybe captivate me but it just never happened.
I felt like I was at a new school and was trying to learn everyone's names all at once and was chasing the story but never got to the plot.
All the feels
I became very upset because I've never but a book down and abandon it. I honestly cant even give this book a proper book review because honestly I never got to the plot. All I know is that a list was created and everyone in it was in complete shock and was coping with the aftermath. It honestly does sound interesting but the writing was just horrible.

please you guys don't hate me, I'm so sorry, there's no shade on the author..im just giving my honest opinion.

Characters:
MIA: Super talented Mia..is there any more to say..Lol
ADAM WILDE: Sorry I just had to use his complete name. I love how he went from being this big romantic into a sick romantic. I totally love that Adam made a whole album for Mia or about Mia. I also love the fact that he's super hot and famous and just tying to roam the streets of New York like a regular person, goes to show you that celebs are also human.
Adam and Mia are super huge in the music business and are both in New York city!!
Adam separates from the group and cancels all his plans to go see Mia play. They finally meet once again and go in a late night cross city adventure together. During this time some topics of their past come up and they argue/ talk things out. Now that is as far as ill go into the story, ill let you guys read the book and find out on your own..lol
Absolutely loved the ending! I'm also happy that Gayle Forman ended the book as a sequel and didn't turn it into a trilogy. I was so excited to see where Mia and Adam's story will lead and how it would end especially for Mia.

Do any of you remember The Scholastic Book Fair in Elementary school??!! I used to LOVE LOVE LOVE this time of school year. As soon as i received the the news that it was time for the fair i used to save money left and right. Do small jobs around the house for just $1 ..ohh those were the days. I used to buy all kinds of books... all subjects ....if i look deep in the garage i could probably find some of them. That was one of the most missed things about Elementary School.
As heartbreaking as it is I haven't had the chance to participate in a Scholastic book fair because well I'm not in Elementary School. BUT I do have a wonderful neighbor who is in School and is participating in the book fair. Since she knows i love to read she asked me if i wanted to purchase some books and of course I SAID YES!!
I will not spoil the surprise and tell you what I'm going to purchase BUT its at a great price and its two books for now, I'm not sure if I'm going to purchase anything else but we will see.
If you have the chance to participate in the book fair PARTICIPATE, they have great prices and it really helps students nationwide.
SO GO OUT THERE AND HELP CHILDREN WHILE READING!!
HERE IS SOME INFO ON THE BOOK FAIR

As many of you have noticed Its taken me a long time to read Where She Went by Gayle Forman, but don't worry I can explain.
I have this big habit of taking a book with me wherever i go and to me thats a very good habit except for this day. I rerecently took a trip to Universal Studios Hollywood and had a great time. That morning I had packed my backpack with all the things I felt I needed including my book. When we had arrived I was so excited and wanted to get in every ride. My all time favorites are The Mummy and Jurassic Park. We got on The Mummy first since the line was short and it was the first ride on the list. Now remember my backpack well since it was small the employees told me to place it between my legs. Then we got on Jurassic FRONT ROW ! I was also told to place my backpack between my legs and it was all fun and games until the big drop at the end. Since the beginning of the ride we felt as if the boat was going to fast, it was missing all it's cues but we didn't mind. So when the big drop arrived we were all hit by a HUGE WAVE OF WATER!!
I didn't realize my book was ruined until everybody was taking out their cell phones to make sure they were still functioning. I honestly wanted to cry but I didnt. My book was officially drenched and there was nothing I could do about it so for a couple of weeks I was on a mission to find another copy but kept reading when it finally dried.
So I can definitely say I learned a good lesson that day. ALWAYS think before backing my book for an outing, because BOOKS AND WATER DON'T MIX!!

The story begins in the morning with a snow day and canceled school. The family decide to take a drive. They all get in the car and take off. While in the road they decide on the radio stations they will be listening to. When Beethoven's Cello Sonata no. 3 comes on the radio a pick up truck crashes straight into the passenger side of the car at sixty miles an hour. Mia is then cast in an out-of-body state and watches everything in this state throughout the book. Mia immediately sees her parents dead on the road and herself laying on the on the road unconscious. She follows herself to the hospital and later finds out that her little brother Teddy has also passed away.
The story goes back and forward from the past to present with Mia describing her present condition and activity in the hospital to different times in the past with different characters.
Mia explains her two loves in life music and Adam. She started playing the cello when she was in third grade; and meet boyfriend Adam in the music wing at school. Their love sparked when Adam took Mia to a Yo-Yo Ma concert.Their love grows and is perfect until Mia auditions for a music school named Juilliard in New York City while Adam's career starts to pick up with his band named Shooting Star in Portland.

Characters:
TEDDY: I love Teddy he is so active and childish.
KIM: I like Kim as well, I like how mature she is and wants the best for Mia.
ADAM: He is so nice and charming for a punk kid. Very mature and really does love Mia.
WILLOW: She is so strong to me a girl you don't want to mess with.
MIA'S PARENTS: Her parents are bad ass to me they are very mature but yet they have a playful side that everybody wants.
HENRY: I like how he is such a kid but cleaned up for love that in itself is a love story. LOL
I really did enjoy this book I myself am a musician and enjoyed watching Mia grow into music and enjoyed how much her parents played a big role in her passion.
My tearing point in this book was on pages 152 through 160 when she finds out Teddy has died. The way she described his curls and how she had witnessed his birth and being the first person he saw and never seeing him ever again or embarrassing him in front of his friends was just too close to home to me. I have a little brother and he is in that phase where my presence in front of his friends is embarrassing and just thinking that even though its a simple scene I would go crazy if I could never experience that ever again with my little brother.
Another tearing point was on page 181 when Granps stays with Mia alone in the room crying silently and tells Mia that is okay to go and its okay to stop fighting even though he wants her to stay. This was hard on me as well because I believe that silent cries are very sincere. I have also lost my grandfather due to cancer and just picturing him crying and in such state kills me.
I really enjoyed the ending, it was kind of a cliche but I think in this book it fits it well. I just hate how it kinda left you with a cliff hanger.
I have bought "Where She Went' by: Gayle Forman and am really excited to start reading it.

The picture above are just a couple of books I own by the publisher SPEAK.I have never bought a book just because of a specific book publisher but I have recently noticed that my bookshelves are filled with books that have been published by a book publisher called SPEAK. So of course I did some research!!
Turns out that Speak was launched by Puffin Books. A new imprint aimed at teens, in the year of 2002. Speak brings classic and innovative fiction to the leading paperback list. It combines contemporary novels featuring characters with whom readers can identify, historical fiction that transports the reader to new worlds, original series, and award-winning authors combined with bright new talent.
Most of my books are by Sarah Dessen, she was one of my favorite authors when i was a teenager. Looking through my stack of books by SPEAK I have realized that most of my top favorite stories are within this stack. The next time I go shopping at a bookstore I would keep my eyes open for SPEAK PUBLISHING and their famous book spine logo.

Does this happen to anyone else?? I read a book and time goes by then I realize that it will become a movie. When I try to remember what the book was about I just have a complete brain fart and forget EVERYTHING! I then have to re-read the entire book (not that I'm complaining) just to be able to see the movie. I don't know if my mind is starting to loose its juice or i'm just going crazy...or maybe a little of both.
So i decided to start fresh and re-read every book I own and document everything here in my blog. I think its a great plan, like that you can witness my journey and I can be able to remember what i read. Now the thing is how fast can I finish my entire bookcase!! I think I'm wishing myself luck, but hey someone has to do it!!
My Favorite quote:

My Life in Black and White follows Lexi, a girl who has always been defined by her natural beauty. She had meet her bestfriend Taylor in kindergarden and since then became the dynamic duo. Lexi thaught she had the perfect life; she had natural beauty, friends, love with boyfriend Ryan and a promising modeling career. The summer before High School Taylor's brother Jarrod had invited some of his varsity football buddies to have a party. Everthing was great until Lexi found Taylor giving Ryan a blowjob. Lexi asked Jarrod for a ride home. On the way there Jarrod had kissed Lexi and tried to convince her to touch his croth. Lexi had unbuckled her seat belt and threatened to jump out the car causing Jarrod to crash; Lexi's face had went through the windshield. She was so angry and hurt that she had no contact with anyone but her family. She was greiving with her injuries and anger while trying to find her true new self with help from her sister Ruthie and new hunk Theo. Sister Ruthie taught Lexi to be her true self and not worry what everybody else thinkswhile Theo encourageed her to fight her inner anger in a possitive way through boxing. In the end Lexi forgives everyone and works on herself on becoming a better friend.
Now let's talk characters.
RYAN: To me Ryan was a complete jerk. Pressuring someone towards sex can never have a good ending. Asking your girlfriend's bestfriend for sexual hazzing is even worse.
TAYLOR: I consider Taylor to be very immature even though she thinks she's doing the right thing. When I look at Taylor's life I saw a big disfunctional family and parenting and I hope she works on herself.
RAE, HEIDI, KENDALL: Typical teenage girls, always wanting to be in the lope of everybodys business but their own.
RUTHIE: Everyone thinks Ruthie is not cool and is super lame. To me Ruthie was so awsome, she is the sister every girl wants, yeah she might have a hard time showing it but you know its there.
THEO: Theo is a realistic boyfriend to me he is so supportive but yet has his own personal problems. If this book where to ever become a movie I expect Theo to be this big buff guy who everyone is scared to approach but is really a big sweet teddy bear.
I didn't give this book a 5 star because I don't really agree with the ending. I would have never forgave Taylor for what she did and that's because I believe the reason she gave Lexi is not valid to me. She could have easlily said no. If you have to do anything that your not comfortable with to get into a team or club is very imature in my rule book and its not worth it.
If you have read this book I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did, and learned something about inner strength. If you haven't read this book I hope you do read it and receive the message the author is giving.
